Open Academia is partnering with Public Knowledge Project (PKP) to provide a complete production- and publication service that includes processing manuscripts through copyediting, typesetting, proofreading (liaising with authors), online publication, indexing and archiving. The Open Academia staff also serves as the peer review support contact for all system users: editors, section editors, authors, reviewers and readers. Basically, we offer support on all core elements of the publishing process. We are the well-oiled machinery working behind the scenes. An efficient back office working to enable academic societies to publish research with the prestige and freedom of their own institutional imprint.
In short, Open Academia offers support on all core elements of the publishing process, from the technical and nitty-gritty aspects of production and dissemination to supporting authors and editors on a daily basis.
Open Academia offers OJS journal hosting on commercial-grade hardware (PKP Professional Plan) for all back office clients, but we are also happy to work with journals that already have a hosting solution in place. Our objective is to support independant publishing and for some, that may mean a separate hosting plan.

When a manuscript has been accepted for publication, Open Academia will step in and take care of the entire production and publication process, in close cooperation with authors and editors.
The Production Editor services come at a cost of USD 55/EUR 55/SEK 580 per published page (PDF). VAT will be added to customers within Sweden and the European Union, except non-Swedish organizations that provide their VAT-number. We are proud to provide Production Editor services to a growing list of journals.
